Karl F. CONYARD

Karl F. Conyard is the Core Curriculum Programme ASPHER Fellow based at the UCD School of Public Health Physiotherapy and Sports Science. Karl’s work before joining ASPHER, was in the area of population health and epidemiology, working within Irelands’ national health service (HSE) as a clinical operations manager in covid-19 contact management programme overseeing the national specialised clinical contact tracing team. Karl’s original background was in auxiliary nursing, he then completed his BSc. in Health and Society at DCU and attained his Master of Public Health (MPH) degree at UCD and is on the mature entry medicine pathway at the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI), University of Medicine and Health Science. Karl has attained the RCSI Certificate in Lifestyle Medicine, he is also a qualified National Officer of Statistics via the Central Statistics Office (CSO) in Ireland. Karl is also a fellow member of the Royal Society for Public Health (UK), the Royal Statistical Society (UK) and he is a member of the Royal Academy of Medicine in Ireland. Karl is also an Affiliate Member of the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland. Karl’s research interests are clinical epidemiology, curriculum development, competency development, methodology, biostatistics, health service research and educational evaluation.
