Marc Soethout graduated at the Faculty of Medicine of the Amsterdam University Medical Center and specialised in Public Health Medicine. At present he is education coordinator of the department of public and occupational health of Amsterdam University Medical Center, and is nowadays actively involved in undergraduate and postgraduate education of public and occupational health. He is president of the section Public Health Medicine UEMS, but also treasurer of this section and reviewer of EACCME of the UEMS. In the past he was vice-chair of the Dutch National Licence Board of the Royal Dutch Medical Association.
