Mustafa Volkan Kavas
Mustafa Volkan Kavas is a bioethics scholar working as an assistant professor at Ankara University, Faculty of Medicine, Ankara, Turkey. He has been teaching bioethics, supervising graduate and postgraduate students, and conducting research studies for more than fifteen years in the field. He worked as a visiting scholar at Vrije University Medical Center, Department of Medical Humanities in Amsterdam in 2017. Dr. Kavas is considered an expert in ethics education and professionalism, especially with regards to the influence of the hidden curriculum. Throughout his academic career, he has also been into qualitative research methods, death and dying, clinical ethics support, health policy, and discourse and ideology in bioethics. Currently he has been conducting the national Train-the-Trainer program in Turkey within the scope of EU Horizon 20202 project VIRT2UE of which he is one of the developers. Additionally, he contributes to the activities European Clinical Ethics Network (ECEN) as an active member. Furthermore, he has conducted studies and workshops in Cambridge Bioethics Education Network Turkey Working Group for almost a decade.
