Süheyla Altuğ Özsoy
S.A Özsoy graduated from Ege University School of Nursing in 1985 and became Associate Professor in 2000 and Professor in 2007. Between 2007-2009, he served as the Deputy Director of Ege University School of Nursing and between 2010-2017 as the head of the Department of Public Health Nursing. He was a member of the clinical research ethics committee of Ege University Faculty of Medicine between 2009-2017, a member of the “prison monitoring committee” between 2013-2015 within the scope of the European Union harmonization programs, as well as many nursing associations. She attended Florence Network meetings held in Sweden in 2007 and in Czech Republic in 2008 as a school representative.
Since 2000, she has been interested in critical thinking and qualitative research in nursing, and directed masters and doctoral dissertations on this subject. The book "Critical thinking in nursing" was published in 2010, and the book "Qualitative research in nursing" is at the writing stage and it is planned to be published in 2020. She has published many research and review articles in national and international journals. When the TÜBİTAK project was published in 2017, it was deemed worthy of 4 first prizes at national professional congresses and by associations. Throughout her academic life, studies aimed at improving the quality of research in nursing have been a priority. She served as TÜBİTAK BİDEP, ARDEB projects applications evaluation panelist and in the “Vehbi Koç Foundation Nursing Support Fund” evaluation committee between 2013-2016. Özsoy, who is an advisory and scientific board member in many national journals, is married with two children.
