Orhan Sertaç Dölek
I was born in 1959 in Balıkesir. I graduated from İzmir Bornova Anatolian High School in 1977. I graduated from Ege University, Faculty of Medicine in 1983. I did completed my military service as medical sub-lieutenant in Ankara. After my duty in Çankırı Province within the scope of compulsory service in the Ministry of Health, I was appointed to the Center for Family Planning and Mother Child Health in Manisa. In 1998, I started working as an Emergency Service Doctor at İzmir Metropolitan Municipality Eşrefpaşa Hospital and I served uninterruptedly for 31 years.
In 2019, I was assigned to the Department of Public Health which was established as a reflection of Izmir Metropolitan Mayor Tunç Soyer's vision of social municipality and the ideal of creating a healthy city. I am still working as the Head of Department in this unit. In this context, I coordinate the training and practices aimed at improving health literacy, which will touch all segments of the society, starting with disadvantaged groups.
I am married to Dr. Figen Uğur DÖLEK and I have two children named Deniz and Ege.
