Meltem Çöl
Prof. Dr. Meltem ÇÖL graduated from Ankara University Faculty of Medicine in 1983. She became a Public Health Specialist in Ankara University Faculty of Medicine Public Health Department in 1990, and became Public Health Associate Professor in 1994. In 2000, she was appointed as Professor in the same department. She has been working as the Head of Public Health Department since 2017. She still carries out pre-graduate, post-graduate education and research activities in the Department. Epidemiology, Chronic Diseases and Reproductive health are main interest and study areas of her.
She carries out the Epidemiology Master Program and worked as the coordinator of the Integrated course of Scientific Research and Methodology at Ankara University Health Sciences Institute, and serves as the Head of the Community Based Medicine Group, and Evidence Based Medicine Group in the pre-graduate program of the Faculty of Medicine. She is member of Ankara University Research Strategies Coordination Board. She is manager of the Epidemiology subspecialty and Occupational Diseases subspecialty programmes at the Public health Department and a member of the Epidemiology Specialist Education Curriculum Commission.
She participated in International Advanced Training Skills certificate programs and took part in many courses as an expert trainer. She served on several Chronic Diseases Control Programs carried out by the Ministry of Health, in the Reproductive Health Projects and Advisory Boards etc. and served as a board member of the Public Health Specialists Association. She conducted various National and International projects, has too many research articles , presentations and the author of numerous books and chapters.
