Kobi Peleg
Prof. Peleg is a Prof in The Disasters and Emergency Management Department in TAU and a senior consultant in the field of Emergencies and crisis management for the Israeli National Emergency Management Authority, to the National Security Council, to the Ministry of Health and other organizations and companies in several countries.
Prof Peleg served as the Head of the Gertner Institute for Health Policy and Epidemiology and the he was the founder and served 20 years as the Head and founder of the Israeli National Center for Trauma and Emergency Medicine Research in the Gertner Institute.
Prof. Peleg is a Professor and the founder of the Disaster Medicine Department and the Executive Master Programs for Emergency Disaster Management in the School of Public Health, Tel-Aviv University. Prof. Peleg served as the head of the Disaster and Emergency Management department in Tel-Aviv University for 13 years.
Prof. Peleg served as the Chair of Directors for the World Association for Disasters and Emergency Medicine (WADEM). Prof Peleg served in command positions in an Israeli Field Hospital in Rwanda in 1995, the Field Hospital in support of the Armenian earthquake site in 1988, and the IDF Field Hospitals for the Ruanda civil war (1995), Haiti earthquake (2010) and the super-typhoon in the Philippines (2013). Prof. Peleg is an UNDAC expert and in this capacity, he served in the West Sumatra earthquake in 2009 and the Nepal earthquake in 2015. Prof. Peleg was the chief of the IDF military medical academy (col.). Prof. Peleg served as WHO consultant for the national emergency system and led Mass-casualty Management courses for several organizations and governments as the WHO, and mentor for WHO-EMT for several EMTs as Piemonte Italy, UK and more.
Prof. Peleg is a faculty member and visiting Professor in 5 universities in Europe, USA and Asia. He published more than 200 articles and chapters in the leading journals and he is a member of the Editorial boards of several journals.
