Işıl Ergin
Born in 1970, Balıkesir. After graduating from Ege University Faculty of Medicine in 1994, she worked as a general practitioner in Van. She completed her Family Medicine specialization in 1995-1999 and Public Health specialization in 2001-2005. Since 2006, she has been working as an academician in Ege University Public Health Department. She has international and national publications and projects in the fields of health inequalities, chronic diseases epidemiology, nutrition, elderly health and tobacco control. She also contributes to the field with her intervention studies in these areas, training and service provision (smoking cessation polyclinic).She institutionalizes these efforts in the relevant boards of the university, as well as the provincial boards. She works as the coordinator of Ege University's Green Crescent-supported Dumansız Ege Project. She lectures on all these areas at undergraduate level at the Medical faculty and the Health Vocational School and at the graduate level in the Institute of Health Sciences (Master's programs on Public Health, Occupational Health, Epidemiology, Support in Diabetes). She continues her doctorate education as a student in Ege University Internal Medicine Elderly Health program. Currently, she serves as Section Editor at Turkish Journal of Public Health, Academic Editor in PLOS ONE and Review Editor in International Journal of Public Health journals.
