Canan Demir
After graduating from Ege University School of Medicine, she completed her Pulmonary Diseases specialty training at Dokuz Eylül University Pulmonary Diseases Department. She got Master's degree in Basic Respiratory Biology with her thesis on "Toxic and Inflammatory Effects of Engineered Nanoparticles and Diesel Exhaust Particles on Human Mesothelial Cells" in 2017. She studied "Using Different Lymphocyte Proliferation Test Techniques in Nanosilica and Beryllium Sensitization" under the consultancy of Prof.Dr. Benoit Nemery and Prof. Peter Hoet in KU Leuven University School of Medicine, Lung Toxicology Laboratory, and Occupational Diseases Outpatient Clinic for four months in 2018. She completed her occupational medicine specialization training in Ege University School of Medicine, Department of Public Health, Division of Work Health and Occupational Diseases in 2019. She has been working in the SB Ankara Occupational and Environmental Diseases Hospital since April 2019. In addition to these, she has been working as a faculty in MECOR (Methods in Epidemiological, Clinical and Operations Research) Turkey, which is the joint education program of American Thoracic Society (ATS) and Turkish Thoracic Society (TTS) since 2011. She has ongoing duties in several working groups and scientific boards. She also takes part in various national commissions and projects on occupational diseases.
