Ayşen Bulut
Sh is a professor of Public Health, she is a founding Board member of the Human Resource Development Foundation (HRDF) and Clinical Research Ethics Board of the Istanbul University Medical School. She has retired from Istanbul University in 2008 and continues her service to public health as a volunteer.
At Istanbul University, she served as the head of the Family Health Department of the Institute of Child Health, as well as the founding head of the Medical Education Department of the Istanbul Medical School. Her practice also covered services and education on reproductive health, training and research in Turkey and other countries, focusing on development, monitoring and evaluation. She has advised and consulted for WHO, UNFPA, London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine and the US Center for Development and Population Activities. Aysen Bulut has contributed to the development and capacity building of medical staff in the areas of maternal and child health.
She is the holder of a diploma in Population Studies from UK’s Exeter University (with WHO scholarship, 1984). She completed her public health residency in 1979 and was an associate professor in Hacettepe University where she completed her medical doctor degree. Aysen Bulut is the holder of Istanbul Medical Association’s Prof. Dr. Nusret Fişek Service in Medicine Award (1994) and Turkish Medical Association’s Nusret Fişek Science Award (2002).
