He has more than 15 years of experience in international health policy, coordination and global health development. He holds a Postgraduate Diploma and Master of Science Degree in Public Health, from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, University of Landon, UK and a Master Degree in Health Services Management from the School of Public Health, Moldova State Medical University. Before joining WHO, Dr. Ursu combined his work at Emergency Hospital with activity as a Project Manager of the Emergency Medical Services capacity strengthening project. He was later employed at the Ministry of Health of Moldova as Head of the lnternational Relations Office. Dr. Pavel Ursu joined WHO in 2001 first as Project Officer, since 2003 he was the WHO Head of Country Office in the Republic of Moldova. During 2010-2015 Dr. Ursu served as WHO Representative in Tajikistan. Since May 2015 Dr. Pavel Ursu is WHO Representative in Turkey.
